Emergency Medical Responder – (EMR) TBD
This 120-hour course provides advanced level knowledge and skills to prepare students for the pre-hospital emergency care field. This course is approved by the Alberta College of Paramedics and meets the requirement for registration and examination at the EMR level. Approximately 100 hours of pre-course study is required prior to the class start date and is in addition to the scheduled class time. Minimum age: 18 years.
Pre-requisite: Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s license, current Standard First Aid with Level C CPR or HCP CPR and AED from an Alberta OH&S approved program, and High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Certification Length: N/A. Course completion training card only. Students are required to register with the Alberta College of Paramedics and successfully complete the Provincial EMR exam for certification.
Note: Please note our EMR Program is undergoing re-development. The timeline for implementation of our new EMR program is TBA. As an alternative, consider the St. John Ambulance Advanced First Aid Program, an Alberta OH&S approved program designed for the workplace and anyone wanting advanced level training.
